The New Manager Program

Workshop Description

Management development is one of the most critical investments we can make in growing our organization. Improving the quality of management is essential to the success of companies because of their immediate impact on employees’ productivity.

In order for new managers to be successful and support the company’s strategic and operational goals, they need to be equipped with the tools and processes to successfully coach, manage, appraise and develop their people.

The New Manager Program helps team leaders and managers build management competencies through self-assessment, lectures, group discussions, case studies and group exercises.

Who Should Participate?

For Managers, Team Leaders and Supervisors with less than 3 years experience supervising people, and for longer serving managers who have had little or no formal management training.

Workshop Objectives:

At the end of the program, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the transition from individual to manager
  • Practice good communication skills
  • Build employee motivation, confidence and competence through performance feedback
  • Know how to handle disputes or conflicts
  • Conduct effective goal setting sessions
  • Coach for improving job performance
  • Understand and develop leadership characteristics that help build high performing teams
  • Create an action plan to monitor the use of these skills in the workplace
